This meta-analysis suggests AIS patients may tend to have lower vitamin D levels, but the current evidence cannot prove that vitamin D deficiency is the cause of scoliosis, nor that supplementing vitamin D can correct the Cobb angle; for patients and families, vitamin D should be placed in the position of “bone health and nutrition management,” not packaged as a core method for treating scoliosis.
